THE RENAISSANCE ASTROLOGER NEWSLETTER
DECEMBER, 2017

Currently, Saturn sojourns though the last few degrees of Sagittarius, (one might say the “horse’s tail”, and perhaps the most restless, roaming few-degree zone of the zodiac. If any of you find yourselves currently betwixt and between, the upcoming change to Capricorn could be helpful. This is because the inclination of Saturn in Capricorn is to banish indecision and get marching in a steady, firm direction toward defined goals.

Saturn’s “ingress” to the first degree of Capricorn commences on Dec 19th at 8:48 pm (Pacific Time), joined by the Sun on Dec 21st at 8:29 am and Venus on Dec 24th at 9:26 pm. 0˚ Capricorn is not only the the winter solstice point, but is best known in mundane astrology as “the world axis”, being one of the most impactful degrees on world governments and events. What does that mean? It sounds important, and it is - look around - we are achieving a critical mass on earth in almost every arena.

Saturn will remain until approximately March 21st, 2020, bringing periods of variant character dependent on fellow ‘chronocrat’ Jupiter’s sign, the sign of the eclipses, etc.

Rather then state all possible manifestations, I’d prefer to afford the reader suggestions according to the “three Ps”: positive, proactive and preemptive. How can we best utilize the energy of Saturn in Capricorn?

Both Saturn and Capricorn emphasize organized form - for instance, Saturn rules architects, beurocrats, priests and farmers. Both signs govern the bones. Energetically, both signs dry, harden, crystalize and economize.

Arenas of influence: agriculture, trees, grain stores, mining, capitalism, large corporations, real estate, construction, mountains, grazing animals, dry or cold weather, survival preparation, drought, famine, laws, rules, the right wing of politics.

If able and willing, plant fruit and nut trees! We might be needing them one day in the not-too distant future. Background food plots, food banks, seed banks, farming tools…what’s not to like? Organize your business better, take charge of your habits and diet, or commence a dedicated career path or spiritual discipline.

Saturn in Capricorn encourages (or forces) most people to choose, organize, commit, and build. The time for piddle-paddling is through - especially for vocational, financial and life direction planning. Those with Capricorn Sun or Ascendant will feel the new epoch strongly, and might will receive more authority or responsibility. Capricorn is a sign of parenthood…parents are called to be more firm or disciplined. The gauntlet is thrown down!

More suggestions: Save up grains and food stores, preparing for the strongest effects of Saturn in Capricorn coming in 2019 and most, 2020. Protect the earth. Do what you can to preserve beautiful old buildings, cozy neighborhoods, wildlife refuges, waters, the earth and her creatures (because Saturn in this sign favors the forces opposing.) Plant forests and adopt species. Protect your community from deforestation ad mining-related hazards. Get serious about your personal family and community health and survival. The wiggle-room of Sagittarius has ended and we are entering Capricorn’s determined ray.

Keep your heart alive (less computer/phone, and more cooking, singing, gardening visiting, sports, sleep, cuddling, dancing, petting cats, etc.)

Those with the following health issues should be proactive: arthritis, rheumatism, gall bladder issues, knee, nail or skin complaints, osteoporosis, dental problems, hearing complaints. Saturn goes both ways: “His” rays can strengthen and cure, provided one puts in the work in a steady, patient and disciplined manner. Or, he will force you to!

Saturn rules the principal or “you reap what you sow” and also “God helps those whom help themselves”. Capricorn is his own sign, so he has come home. Many who have worked hard will see their earthly goals met in this period. However, this depends on your individual chart. Saturn in Capricorn is most easily utilized for Virgo and Taurus.
