BACK STORY ON THE ”THE TWINS”
For years, I’ve bemoaned the lack of language or method that speaks directly to the healer or medical professional in a language they can grok, without having to become astrologers first. Also, I wanted to redesign a “Zodiacal Man” chart in a more readily useful manner. This traditional figure, seen in all surgeon’s and barber’s offices in the Renaissance, fails to show the backside! Also, its a little hard to discern some body regions with precision. The attendance at the four previous Renaissance Medicine conferences taught me that there is a real hunger amongst the health practitioners and herbalists for easily applied medical astrology. But…most do not have the time to master astrology.
It occurred to me one night that it was high time for a “handy pocket guide”, that speaks directly to the healer., and thus, Medical Astrology for Health Practitioners was born We would need some verbal adaptions and, a chapter with “Testimony of Physicians”. Most of all, I would place the most reliant and easiest methods right up front in a “you can do this” approach. Only later in the book, I’d include the usual Sun sign and Moon sign idiosyncracies, but from an exclusively medical point of view, and in great depth.
Healing is in part, related to how harmonious a physician is with his/her patient! This book includes the only section in print detailing “Doctor-Patient Harmony”. Also “Public Health Trends”, and “Knowing Your Patient’s Needs” - a detailed section on the Moon.
A second dream was fomenting in thought for a few years. What was needed in the field of medical astrology was a repertory of transit influence upon the human body - as patterned in the natal chart. (This would also useful for exclusively natal chart work). Matthew Wood’s new Earthwise Herbal Repertory was the inspiration. Aha! This is what was needed for my field. Field Notes, Herbal Notes and Surgical Tips must be included. These would be sprinkled throughout the text, providing entertaining and useful complement to the planetary listings.
Secluding myself away throughout the Fall and Winter, I worked intensively on the text, including their practical and decorative illustrations. The result was is a 400 page tome, illustrated, brimming with fascinating and practical details regarding the possible medical-physical effects of most hard aspects (and some soft) to the body. Appropriate caveats included.
My editors Mark Polit and Dawn King and designer Dawn King worked hard to facilitate their release for NORWAC 2019.
After the long writer’s seclusion, it was an immense pleasure to meet so many wonderful people at NORWAC. It was great fun doing “laps” around the 8th floor of the hotel with various folks, dining, or staying up late in rapt discussion. If only we could have continued on like this another few days - the cup having runneth over with joy. Many thanks to Laura Nalbandian for this incredible event.

We read here and there of a physician extolling the virtues of this method. Here, are four testimonies all together!
EVENT!! Judith will expound upon the profoundly physical influences of the planets and demonstrate their medical influences in action. She will reveal visual proofs of this action, and discuss traditional remediations. We will share some fascinating chart samples. Cosmic influence as defined by planetary temperature, moisture and speed, is basic to all ancient branches of astrology. The “six planetary energetic states” resonate through all levels of our being! In this paradigm, the imbalance of planetary energies, as informed by their excess and deficiency in the birth chart, (or as caused by current transits to the birth chart), can produce physical dis-ease. The transits of Saturn, Mars and the North and South Lunar Nodes are of particular interest to health. Although all planets exert their specific health-related imbalances. we will focus largely on these four (see workshop for detail on all planets). Judith Hill Entitled after Hill’s latest book, this exciting workshop explores the physical effects of the planets, Lights and most especially, the transiting Lunar Nodes, and traditional remedials. Learn to time the onset and departure of planetary influences upon the body, and ancient methods to preempt them if necessary (stones, waters, nutrition, flower essences, herbs). Discover how to utilize transit Jupiter and Venus for assistance in surgical timing. We will observe the charts of Bruce Lee, Betty Davis, and Amy Winehouse, in relation to their known health conditions. Attendees will become aware of the twelve medical quincunxes, and learn about this mysterious, yet preeminent health transit. If time permits, we will consider the Moon’s role as “the herbalist’s companion” in the timing of harvest, decoction and administration of traditionally potentized herbs, and the impact of the Sun’s essential yearly cycle upon natives of all signs.
